She is the daughter of actor and musician Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. In her teenage years, her musical tastes evolved from glam rock to alternative. Allen abandoned school and concentrated on improving her performing and compositional skills. Afterwards, she created several demo songs and, near the end of 2005, she created a profile on MySpace where she made some of her recordings public.
Lily Allen Workout
Singer Lily Allen has revealed her recent dramatic weight loss came after doctors ordered her to get fit when they discovered she had a heart murmur.
Allen, 22, sparked concern when she shed 19lbs and dropped from a size 12 to an eight in just six weeks.
And the results are not just showing on her lower half – the 22-year-old is also noticibly thinner in the arms and face.
The singer has cut out sugar and wheat, and is on a diet of fish, lean meats and steamed vegetables.
The singer, who enjoys the odd pint as much as you and me, has discovered Bikram Yoga, a tortuous routine of 26 postures performed in a room heated to 105 degrees.
So on top of all the toning benefits associated with yoga, she’s also sweating out fat and toxins by the bucketload!
”She was eating lots of junk Foods and wouldn’t go to the gym,” says her London-based hypnotherapist Susan Hepburn. “I got her to want to go, so she goes. My treatment isn’t a diet; that’s why it’s so effective.”
“Now I make sure I work out three times a week. And I don’t hold back — it’s a hardcore routine in the gym.”
Lily Allen Diet
A murmur — a soft rushing sound heard with a stethoscope — is often harmless. But it can also indicate a hole in the heart or a valve problem.
Keeping fit tones heart muscles and helps the organ to cope with the condition. Lily said: “I used to love nothing more than sitting in front of the telly with two packets of Ginger Nuts and two bags of milk bottle sweets. I’d devour the lot.
On top of this, she has to drink a special juice of ginger, beetroot, carrot, apple and celery, as well as concentrated artichoke and celery juice tonics three times a day.
Lily Allen’s Diet Instead of sugary snacks, Hepburn suggested that Lily eat organic fruits and veggies and drink water, because thirst can often be mistaken for hunger. And Lily’s never felt better.
“After the hypnotism, I want to go to the gym every day,” she says. “I just want to get more toned and healthy. I’m really good about everything at the moment – I’ve never been happier.”
